Pave

Pave's Bread for Sale
Pave is a local bakery in North Everett. It’s been a favorite of mine for over ten years. They have the typical lunch fare – soups, pasta, sandwiches and wraps – but with some fun twists in there as well.

Outside of Pave
Pave is located on Colby, in North Everett. Along with their lunch fare, they offer a variety of baked goods as well. Several different kinds of breads, such as Onion Rosemary, Potato, Whole Wheat Hazelnut, Focaccia, and Ciabatta can be found baked fresh and for sale in whole loaves as well as used for sandwiches and accompanying soups. I’ll often buy a loaf of bread to take home for soup, sandwiches, or toast in the morning. It makes excellent French Toast as well!

Front Counter at Pave
This Saturday morning, I was meeting a couple of girls for breakfast – I had tea and a caramel apple scone, which was wonderful. They carry several kinds of pastries for breakfast – their muffins are generous, they have several kinds of scones, stuffed savory croissants, and danishes. A favorite of mine is the apple cake – a thick slab of dense sweet and very moist cake with large chunks of apple in it. It’s amazing.

Inside of Pave
Pave is also a local favorite for lunch, as you can tell by the line going out the door every day around noon. They have daily specials, and rotating soups. Their sandwiches are loaded with your choice of meats, cheeses, and toppings, and they also have a varitey of wraps, pastas, quiche, salads, etc… to choose from as well. Some of my favorites are the Beef Stroganoff Soup (thick and rich and delicious, served on Thursdays) and their Asian Wrap – Seasoned teriyaki chicken, curried rice, asian slaw and peanut sauce in a spinach tortilla. Prices can seem a bit steep for some things ($4 for a half sandwich, $8 for a whole, $7.75 for a wrap) but the ingredients are fresh and healthy and the portions are generous. The menu is fun and creative, with soups like Tomato Eggplant, Vietnamese Chicken Noodle, Mushroom Barley, and Greek Lemon. Some of the Daily Bread Specials are Italian Tomato, Lemon, Tuscan Olive, Challah, Sour Cherry, and Cran-Orange Walnut Crumb Cake. The environment is comfortable, unpretentious, and features local artist’s work on the walls (a plus) but at times doesn’t seem large enough for the many fans the little cafe has (a downside). Overall, Pave is a place we recommend for a quick pastry in the morning, a treat for lunch, or a place to stop after work to pick up some amazing bread to go with dinner. One more thing – they also have several kinds of creme brulee for dessert! Another treat to take home with that bread!
