Beecher’s
One of our favorite places to graze when we’re at Pike Place is Beecher’s. Pasta. Cheese. The Market. Really, do you need anything more?
Bella Luna
During our most recent weekend adventure on Friday Harbor, we decided to try Bella Luna. We were not disappointed.
Hirotiropita-Inspired Wraps
I love Spanikopita. Josh hates spinach. What’s a girl to do? We stumbled upon Hirotiropita, a variation of Spanikopita but made with shredded pork and veggies… that got me thinking. So what did I do? Take a great dish, tear it all apart and make it my own of course!
Table 219
Josh and I discovered Table 219 the other night. A tiny little spot on Broadway in Capitol Hill, Table 219 offers classic comfort foods with a bit of flair. We came away knowing we had found a new favorite restaurant.
Specialty’s Chocolate Chunk Peanut Butter Cookies and Chocolate Soy Milk
This evening, Josh surprised me with a cookie from Specialty’s. Not just any cookie. Knowing my weakness for chocolate and peanut butter, he brought home a Chocolate Chunk Peanut Butter Cookie.
I did a little dance.

Amazing Macaroni and Cheese in Cast Iron
I came across a complicated - although delicious looking - recipe for macaroni and cheese and wondered if I could revise it to be a little simpler yet still taste amazing. I made this for my old roommate, who is the pickiest eater I know. She loved it! Enough said. Read more…
Baklava

Baklava
I am not a baker. I enjoy cooking because of it’s creativity and lack of rigidity. You’ll notice most of my recipes are a bit vague and leave lots of room for play! This recipe, however, is so worth the “baking” precision I usually avoid. I found the original in a cookbook, and played with it, tweaking it a bit every time, until I came up with this final result. It’s the most amazing baklava I’ve ever tasted, and I’ve had several people say the same! *unapologetic bragging* Read more…
