Turkish Delight is a little hole-in-the-wall on Pike Place that carries a simple menu. Get there early enough to get a chicken and mushroom börek and you’re in for a treat. Read more…
During one of our treks to the Market, we decided to try out Le Panier, a French bakery we’ve passed by several times. I now know that every time I wander around Pike Place, I will be overcome with a craving for a palmier. Read more…
One of our favorite places to graze when we’re at Pike Place is Beecher’s. Pasta. Cheese. The Market. Really, do you need anything more? Read more…
Josh and I discovered Table 219 the other night. A tiny little spot on Broadway in Capitol Hill, Table 219 offers classic comfort foods with a bit of flair. We came away knowing we had found a new favorite restaurant.
I discovered Molly Moon’s through a long-lost classmate’s blog. I was digging around online for some cool food blogs for inspiration and networking, and came across The Tasting Menu. After reading a bit, I realized I went to school with the gal who writes for it! Crazy small world. One of her posts mentioned that she was going to be creating ice cream for Molly Moon’s, and I thought I’ve got to try this place out. Dana was always a good cook, and while at 17 the rest of us were reading the directions on the Top Ramen package, Dana was hosting dinner parties that consisted of several courses and name cards. If she’s still creating 10+ years later, it’s got to be good. Read more…
Meskel is a restaurant that Josh and I have enjoyed for years. I was first introduced to it by some Ethiopian friends of mine, and we’ve continued to come back when we have cravings for some spice and injera. It’s such comfort food. Read more…

Savory Crepes
I’ve been familiar with Essential’s breads and pastries for a while now, but have never had the chance to try the rest of their in-house menu. One afternoon, Josh and I decided to try it out – and we were very pleased. Read more…

Bangers and Mash
In downtown Seattle, on the corner of 1st and Columbia, sits Fadó. As we walked up to it for the first time the other day, our interest was immediately peaked. We were enjoying a morning off in the city, and were staring to work up a serious appetite. Looking over the menu posted outside, we decided it would be worth waiting until their open an hour later at 11:15, and come back. Despite our growling bellies, it was definitely worth saving our appetites.

Best Cookies Ever
The other morning, Josh and I were looking for guaranteed satisfaction in the department of coffee and pastries. We had spent the morning sampling several coffee shops in Seattle, and had saved what we thought to be the best for last. We’ve gone to Specialty’s several times before, and had always had a wonderful experience there. Background story: I am not a mocha drinker. Typically, I like my coffee strong and rich and not sweet at all. My first time at Specialty’s, Josh ordered a mocha and had me taste it… I sheepishly realized about ten minutes later that I had polished it off. It was that good. We’ve had Saturday mornings when we will drive the 30 miles or so to get a mocha and amazing pastries from Specialty’s. Josh works nearby, and will frequent them during the day, occasionally bringing treats home for me. For Christmas, we had cookies shipped to family in Washington DC. You get the picture. We love them. Read more…
